Statement of Belief:
We believe:
-The Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. II (II Tim. 3:16-17)
-That there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:19)
-In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal return in power and glory. (Matt. 1:23; I Pt. 2:21-22; Acts 2:22; I Cor. 15:23; I Cor. 15:4; Acts 2:33; I Thes. 4:16-18)
-That for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. (Rom. 5:12-21)
-That sanctification is the process by which according to the will of God, we are made partakers of His holiness, and it is a progressive work; that it is began in regeneration; and that it is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, the Sealer and Comforter, in the continual use of appointed means, especially the Word of God, self-examination, self-denial, watchfulness and prayer. (Phil. 2:12-13; I Cor. 1:30)
-In the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:4; I Cor. 12:1-11; I Cor. 14)
-In water baptism by immersion. (Matt. 3:16-17; Matt. 28:19; Acts 22:12-16; Mk. 16:15-16)
-In Divine healing through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross. (Is. 53:4-5; I Pt. 2:24; Matt. 8:17)
-In the Resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto eternal damnation. (II Cor. 5:10; Rev. 10:11-15)
-In the Spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (I Cor. 12:13)
PROSPERITY:
It is God's will that his children prosper. Both the Old Testament and the New Testament confirm this fact. Salvation itself includes prosperity. Isaiah 1:19 states that if we are willing and obedient, we will eat of the good of the land.
III John 2 says it this way:”Beloved, I wish above all things that thou may us prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosperous.”Also, no intent of the word is any more clear than Luke 6:38; “Give and it shall be given to you: good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”Paul provides a guide for God's will for our success in II Corinthians 9:3 – 8. Verses seven and eight respectively state: “every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”Another Old Testament example of God's will for us is found in Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shall meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shall make thy way prosperous, and then thou shall have good success.”
All our giving should be Holy Spirit led and given from the heart, willingly, cheerfully. Then prosperity follows.
-We believe prosperity in every area of one's life is, according to the Scriptures, God's will for his children. Old testament: (Abraham)Genesis 14:22 – 23; Genesis 13:2; (Joseph) Genesis 39:2 – three, 23; 41:40 – 44. (Joshua) Joshua 1:7; 12:1 – 24; 24:16. (David) Psalms 30:6; second Samuel 5:10. (Solomon) first things 3:13; 4:1 – 34:10:7.
Genesis 24:40; Deuteronomy 29:9; Psalms 1:3; 122:6; Isaiah 55:11; III John 2.
Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:3 – 8, I Corinthians 8; III John 2
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
Prosperity can be hindered by:
– rebellion against God. (Deuteronomy 28:29)
– covering sins. (Proverbs 28:13)
– fighting God. (Isaiah 54:17)
CONFESSION:
We believe that the words of one's mouth can fling forth life or death. The speaker of the words determines which. (Matt. 12:35)
